Security Upgrade – Progress Report and Town Hall

Thank you to everybody who attended our town hall meeting last evening. The meetings was fairly well attended and was an opportunity for owners and residents receive an update from the project team and to ask questions or raise concerns.

The meeting was addressed by Pieter Steenekamp our estate manager, Brigitte Vorster, the board member overseeing the project, Coenie van Tonder and Ryan Scott from ELF.

An updated project plan was also shared with everybody at the meeting.

Please find progress report on electrical installation as below :

Electrical Activities on 18/05/2020 :

  • Evert Snr attended site meeting at plus minus 8:00 am to 9:00 am.
  • Team arrived on site with Evert Jnr at plus minus between 9:00 am and 10:00 am.
  • Evert Jnr was advised by Briggitte Vorster that she was still arranging access with the occupants of the units and that it would be better to commence tomorrow.
  • Evert Jnr arranged all materials collecting them from our supplier for readiness of installation first thing tomorrow morning and stored the materials at our offices.

Electrical Activities on 19/05/2020 :

  • Work commenced with our team present on site at plus minus between 8:00 am and 9:00 am.
  • Cables and sleeves have been laid/installed to a completion of about 60% to 65% on the first section of our work (on the boundary wall from units 22 to 28.
  • Cables and sleeves have not yet been fastened to the boundary will but this will be done tomorrow.

There was some discussion over the electrical boxes which will be installed at units 2, 10, 25 and 27, but in the end all were in agreement and the following image was shared showing what the boxes will look like:

It was agreed that this was a useful meeting and that others would be held at pertinent times, such as to provide training to residents on the operation of the new access control system at the gate.
